Inaugural Soccer Tournament: Shooting for Starkey
Delta Zeta Theta Omicron hosted a soccer tournament entitled “Shooting for Starkey” in Spring 2016. We had over 90 participants play and even more individuals volunteering. Because of the campus support, we raised more than $1,000 for the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Because of the incredible turn out for this event, we are looking to make the soccer tournament an annual event.
National Partnership: Starkey Hearing Foundation
Starkey Hearing Foundation is an international organization that gives the gift of hearing to the deaf and hard of hearing. The Starkey Hearing Foundation gifts 175,000 hearing aids annually! For the next five years, Delta Zeta has pledged to raise $5 million for Starkey Hearing Foundation.
Turtle Trot 5K
For this semester, we are planning to host a 5K to benefit the Starkey Hearing Foundation (National Partner) and the Painted Turtle Camp (National Service Project). It will be on November 19, 2016 in Edinburg, Texas. We are in the planning stages of it and as information comes available we will relay it to you. We look forward to your support with helping us raise money for our National Partner and National Service Project.
